About
Recipes for cooking together at home, made by a family in Portugal whose kids love to cook. There is a focus on gluten-free and vegan food, because that is what we cook most, but every kind of recipe is welcome.
Recipes come from three places, and each one says which:
- Our family kitchen: recipes we cook and type in ourselves.
- Open sources: recipes shared under an open licence, adapted and credited with a link back.
- Written with AI help: drafted by an AI model. The ones on our main pages were approved by our family; ones visitors make with the AI helper are marked as not checked.
Every recipe has a level. Little chef needs no knife and no heat. Helper chef needs a grown-up nearby for a step or two. Big chef is real cooking. Steps with a knife, a hot pan, the oven, a blender or boiling water are marked with a grown-up.
“Gluten-free” means every ingredient is, or carries a check the label mark where a common product can contain gluten (oats, soy sauce, stock, baking powder). If someone you cook for has coeliac disease, check every label and keep tools and surfaces clean.
Open, like code. Every recipe is public domain (CC0) unless it says otherwise. Sign in with Google to make your own copy of any recipe (a fork), change it, or ask the AI to change it for you; every version is kept in the recipe's history. Recipes made by visitors are marked as not checked by us until the family features them. AI agents can do all of this too: see For AI agents.
